Course Description

This course supports our short 10 credit online mosaic course. An intensive school delivered face-to-face and hosted by the School of Art Aberystwyth. This will be taught by Mosaic Maestro Martin Cheek. Aberystwyth has plenty of accommodation to suit all budgets. Upon arrival you will walk in to a metaphorical sweet shop of tesserae boxes – a feast for the eyes. You will learn the different techniques to apply, design and produce mosaics using vitreous, smalti, ceramic and found objects. Students will use the Direct method of working but advice will be given on pebble mosaics and Indirect method. The course will be delivered as two-third practical and one-third theory.
