Course Description

Following on from the first women’s history module, this module gives students the exciting opportunity to plan and carry out their own research projects in any area of women’s history.

Students will learn how to organise, collate, and write a research project based on their own research into selected person(s) and/or aspects of women’s history. They will examine the different ways in which women’s history has been presented by academic and popular publishers, libraries, and museums, and analyse the effectiveness and advantages of each of these presentation styles. From these discussions, students will illustrate which presentation styles are the most appropriate for their research findings.

The course builds on the skills learnt on the first women’s history course, however, the course will be open to those who have some understanding of research. The course is based on class work, tutorial support, and independent study.
