KA201E Greek Beginners 2 (2024/2025)

This course is aimed at students who have attended Beginners 1 or similar or have some very basic knowledge of Greek. It will provide students with a good introductory command of Greek, developing all four skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Course Description

This course is aimed at students who have attended Beginners 1 or similar or have some very basic knowledge of Greek. It will provide students with a good introductory command of Greek, developing all four skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing.

The module will equip students with a very basic knowledge of the countries where Greek is spoken and encourage their curiosity about the language, the country, the people, their environment, society, traditions and culture. It will enable the student to reach a level of very basic competence in the four main areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing.

The student will acquire basic language skills, to enable students to:

  • Talk about the near future.
  • Buy and describe clothes / accessories (colour, size)
  • Discuss likes/dislikes.
  • To order food and drink (ask what’s on the menu, express preferences, ask for more)
  • To order a drink and a snack (refuse or accept a drink)
  • Talk about daily routine activities.
  • Use the days of the week and the months, the seasons
  • Discuss hobbies and everyday activities
  • Tell the time
  • Travel (ask about public transport, find out travel times, buy tickets)
