CA311 Natural History Illustration: Feathers (2024/2025)

This five credit module is suitable for students who are undertaking field studies as well as students who wish to broaden their observational illustration skills. The module will cover drawing and watercolour painting techniques to depict a variety of feather types and forms, with accuracy of colour and detail.

This five credit module is suitable for students who are undertaking field studies as well as students who wish to broaden their observational illustration skills. The module will cover drawing and watercolour painting techniques to depict a variety of feather types and forms, with accuracy of colour and detail.

Embedding within the learning there will be demonstrations, individual advice and help, group discussions and some specimens to work from. The artwork of historical and contemporary artists will be presented and discussed.
