Course Description

This is a module designed to use charcoal only. By exploring the medium’s potential for mark-making, the module aims to aid students to discover its qualities and extend its conventional use. Through a variety of projects ranging from life drawing to imaginative responses, students will produce a body of work that indicates developing skills in fundamental drawing techniques. 

Extending the Line: Charcoal can be studied as a stand-alone course and it is an optional course for the Certificate of Higher Education in Art and Design at Aberystwyth University.
