Course Description

Drawing with Scissors is designed to expand your drawing and painting skills through an introduction to the art of collage.  Since its emergence as an art form in the early 20th century, collage has continued to serve not only as a primary form of expression but as a principle means of developing new creative solutions. Continuing with the ‘eco’ slant provided in other modules such as ‘Cover to Cover’, this module is designed to expand students’ drawing and painting skills taking them into the dimension of collage. By incorporating an introduction to working three dimensionally through assemblage methods, it will provide a good route for student progression onto other 3D modules.

Drawing with Scissors: Collage can be studied as a stand-alone course and it is an optional course for the Certificate of Higher Education in Art and Design at Aberystwyth University.
