Course Description

On this course, learners will be guided through the absolute basics of music theory. From reading pitches and rhythms to understanding chords, time signatures, and clefs, to learning about transpositions, time signatures, and their modern usage, to understand the potential of these different ideas, how to read scores, and how listen actively and attentively to music. Learners will come away with a toolkit of tested concepts and techniques that will enhance their appreciation and understanding of music, setting a strong foundation for their future learning.
