Course Description

Spectacular flocks, wild places and incredible migrations: waterbirds have it all. Whether it is colourful ducks, elegant waders or chip stealing sea gulls, birdwatchers are drawn to waterbirds as they are always exciting. In this course we will be looking at how to identify the ducks, geese, swans, waders and gulls that regularly occur on our estuaries, coasts, lakes and rivers.

The course will be online and aimed at people either with little experience or a basic knowledge. We will look at confusion species, watching techniques and different habitat preferences of these incredible birds and learn why our wetland habitats are of international importance for them.
