Course Description

This course is designed for those who have some experience of biological science but want to deepen their understanding of how we design and formulate a scientific project. This will include forming a hypothesis, designing and conducting a controlled experiment, analysing data, interpreting results, and writing a scientific report. We will be working to develop your critical thinking skills using a series of case studies and structured online discussions designed specifically for the course. You will work through examples of experimental case studies, qualitative case studies, and quantitative case studies to help you develop a deeper understanding of the requirements and limitations of scientific research.

Please note we will be discussing how to process different types of data; we will not be carrying out statistical analysis or using statistical processing software.
