Course Description

This practical course is designed to give an introduction to ink as a drawing and painting medium technique. We will explore the potential of this exciting medium and relevant techniques of working with washes, mark making, looking at chiaroscuro and making a grisaille. Working tonally in this way will help you with all your other creative activities such as painting, drawing etc. building a greater understanding of tone in picture making. We will also be looking widely at the use of ink by numerous artists throughout art history. Teaching on the course will be tailored to the individual and will be taught in a friendly and supportive environment.
