Is a hagfish more closely related to a human than to an eel? And what are primates, rodents or carnivores, really? This online module explores animal classification and evolutionary relationships.  

You’ll take a whistlestop tour through major invertebrate and vertebrate groups, developing your understanding of taxonomy, life cycles and adaptations, following flexible content over 6 weeks in your own time alongside tutor-facilitated discussion.  

Animal Diversity is a Core unit on CHE Ecology and also open to anyone with an interest in animals, no prior experience needed. Ideal for curious minds, those moving careers or building an understanding of our natural world.
