Course Description

This course is aimed at absolute beginners and will introduce students to the Japanese language and culture while developing all four skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing.

The module will equip students with a very basic knowledge of the countries where Japanese is spoken and encourage their curiosity about the language, the country, the people, their environment, society, traditions and culture. It will enable the student to reach a level of very basic competence in the four main areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing.

The student will acquire basic language skills, to enable students to:

  • Greetings
  • Introduce themselves to others
  • Talking about belongings
  • At a department store
  • Give basic directions and location
